    We wouldn’t miss the biggest gaming event in the world!

    It was a busy few days for our Displate crew over in Cologne, Germany. Attending Gamescom 2022, which took place between August 24-28, allowed us to experience firsthand all the wonderful buzz created by showcases, awards, tournaments, cosplayers, and curious visitors.
    This year, Displate has already been to TwitchCon Amsterdam, the LEC Summer Finals in Malmö, the Assembly in Helsinki, the Meet at Rift in Łódź, and now the Maison & Objet expo in Paris.
    But going to Gamescom gave us the unique opportunity to talk to many of our current and future business partners, allow people to see and touch our amazing posters, and of course be close to our favorite group of people: gamers!
    Gamescom 2022 was the world’s largest gaming event, with 1098 exhibitors from 53 countries and over 250,000 visitors from over 100 countries walking its halls, breathing in video games, and spreading their geeky energy around the whole city of Cologne.
    It was a natural fit for us, especially now that our gaming and esports partnerships have been growing exponentially. Just in recent months, we joined forces with Team Liquid and added heavy-hitters like Rocket League, PUBG, and Quantic Dream, on top of our established Bethesda, CD Projekt RED, Assassins Creed, and Resident Evil brand shops.

    A lot to take in and a lot to take home

    LootBoy was our main partner on-site, organizing giveaways that made Displates fly off stage and into the hands of excited gamers! We shared our space with companies like Monster Energy, Huawei, RitterSport, and Warsteiner, and we used it to hold client meetings, talk to influencers, and show our products to fans and partners.
    The reception was beyond amazing and everybody was very excited to finally meet the people behind their favorite metal posters. Additionally, having a base of operations on-site helped us generate quality content for our social media channels much more quickly and efficiently.
    But we also found some time to have fun and enjoy the games and showcases! We managed to get some hands-on time with Moonbreaker and Planet of Lana, and also spent an unhealthy amount of time browsing through the fantastic merchandise available in halls 5.1 and 5.2.

    Coming from the likes of Square Enix, Blizzard, The Witcher, Assassin’s Creed, Disney, and plenty of anime IPs, these halls were filled with highly sought-out items that proved irresistible to collectors.
    To do it all justice, we had to dedicate a blog post to our gaming adventures and impressions.

    With our bags full of memories, merchandise, and important business connections, we headed home to Warsaw, already looking forward to next year’s Gamescom. It was an exciting few days and the team is now fully energized and eager for all the upcoming events that we’ll be attending in the following months.
